The system functions off a motorized camera support and utilizes [facial recognition and artificial intelligence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obsbot-tiny-se) to automatically follow an athlete, and manages to keep the action in-frame without the need for another human operator. This is the true marvel of the Polycam Player, as it manages to imitate the movement of a human operator and is even smart enough to zoom and focus on the fly, as well as track a specific plat or multiple players. In addition to the Polycam Player, MRMC has also announced an automated system for keeping multiple people in a single frame. This system is being dubbed Polycam Chat and it utilizes facial recognition and limb recognition to keep four people in-frame at once. MRMC's systems will be on display at [National Association of Broadcasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heavyduty-carbon-fiber-tripod) (NAB) show in April 2018 and the company is also hoping to show off its Color Control Panel. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **AI-powered Sports Cameras:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop AI-powered robotic cameras that automatically track athletes and keep the action in-frame without the need for a human operator. - **Facial and Limb Recognition:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Utilize facial and limb recognition technology to automatically keep multiple people in-frame, opening up possibilities for group shots and interviews without the need for manual adjustment. - **Automated Camera Systems:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create automated camera systems that imitate human operator movements, including zooming, focusing, and tracking specific players, in order to provide unique perspectives for sports fans, coaches, and trainers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Sports Broadcasting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate AI-powered cameras and automated camera systems into sports broadcasting to enhance viewer experiences and provide new perspectives on the game. - **Event Photography and Videography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Apply facial and limb recognition technology to event photography and videography to ensure all key participants are captured in-frame, eliminating the need for constant manual adjustment. - **Surveillance and Security:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Adapt AI-powered robotic cameras and automated camera systems for surveillance and security purposes, enhancing monitoring capabilities and reducing the need for human intervention. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Powered Movie Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cmrm1.md) - [AI-Powered PTZR Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obsbot-tail-2.md) - [AI-Powered Exercise Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-exercise-camera.md) - [AI-Powered Mirrorless Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fullframe-camera.md) - [AI-Powered Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/isteady-m7.md) - [Athlete-Tracking Smartphone Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sports-tracking-phone-mount.md) - [AI-Enhanced Photography Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gopro-fluid-pro-ai.md) - [AI-Enhanced PTZ Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marshall-electronics.md) - [AI-Enabled Smartphone Gimbals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-2-pro.md)
