# Hospitalized Hanging Gardens Ned Dodington's Poly-Lawn-Dale is Watered by IV Drips By Meghan Young | Published 2010-03-01 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poly-lawn-dale References: [lawndaleartcenter.org](http://www.lawndaleartcenter.org/) Who says IV drips should just help humans? Foliage is just as deserving of life and liquid, and Ned Dodington's Poly-Lawn-Dale exhibition demonstrates that cleverly. Having created a [hanging garden](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/henderson-art-garden) using forty nylon stockings filled with [soil and grass seeds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vert-installation), Dodington then attached them to IV drips. According to Lawndale Art Center where it's displayed, "Poly-Lawn-Dale will hope to show that by recontextualizing the natural and the cultural we can begin to understand new ways of being in a complex and multi-natural world." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Poly-lawn-dale Exhibition:** Opportunity for artists and designers to explore new ways of integrating nature and technology in their creations. - **Recontextualizing Nature and Culture:** Opportunity for businesses to create products and experiences that blend the natural and cultural world to engage consumers in unique ways. - **Multi-natural World:** Opportunity for companies to develop eco-friendly and sustainable solutions that harmonize with the diverse ecosystems of the planet. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can incorporate living elements and technology to create innovative and thought-provoking installations and exhibitions. - **Hospitality and Tourism:** Hotels, resorts, and tourist attractions can create immersive and nature-inspired experiences that offer guests a unique connection with the environment. - **Sustainable Agriculture:** Opportunity for the agriculture industry to explore new methods of vertical gardening and environmentally-friendly farming techniques. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Raindrop-Inspired Hospital Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hospital-installation.md) - [Mini Mess-Free Garden Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydroponics-garden.md) - [Water-Less Minimal Design Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/botnica.md) - [Wall-Mounted Hydroponic Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydroartpod.md) - [Outdoor Floral Sculpture Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptures-at-kew-gardens.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Nature-Inspired Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humannature-1.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vegetment-vegetable-cultivator.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md)
