The program, although very complicated in its design, is actually rather simple to use. Just upload a photo from your iPad camera library or snap a quick one on the app and begin to outline the object in the photo. The program will take care of the rest by turning the photo into a polygonal illusion of prisms, triangles and pyramids. The app also features many different rendering styles like color blending, flat, wireframe and point. The application was inspired by Boris Delaunay, a mathematician in 1943 who invented Triangulation and it is available on the iTunes [Apple](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawww) store. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Polygonal Graphic Design:** The 'Poly' app demonstrates the trend of using polygonal shapes in graphic design, opening up opportunities for designers to create unique and eye-catching visual content. - **Simplified Photo Editing:** The ease of use of the 'Poly' app showcases a trend towards simplified photo editing tools, encouraging developers to create user-friendly applications that cater to a wider audience. - **Artistic Rendering Styles:** The 'Poly' app's various rendering styles highlight the trend of offering diverse artistic options in photo editing software, prompting developers to explore innovative ways of enhancing visual aesthetics. ### Who This Affects Most - **Graphic Design:** The 'Poly' app presents a disruptive innovation opportunity in the graphic design industry by providing a new technique for creating visually striking and modern designs. - **Mobile App Development:** The user-friendly interface of the 'Poly' app suggests a disruptive innovation opportunity in the mobile app development industry by catering to a broader audience seeking easy-to-use photo editing tools. - **Photography:** The 'Poly' app's artistic rendering styles offer a disruptive innovation opportunity in the photography industry, allowing photographers to enhance their images with unique and captivating effects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digital AI-Generated Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/picsart-1.md) - [Vintage Photo Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrova.md) - [Democratic Digital Artwork Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artzme-app.md) - [Caricature Creation Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photo-to-caricature-pictures.md) - [Artistic AI-Powered Poetry Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pamera.md) - [Efficient Photo-Enhancing Mobile Applications](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immersity-app.md) - [AI Photo-to-Brick Converters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-photos.md) - [AI Coloring Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/splat.md) - [Image Pixel Converters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/picture-to-pixel-art.md)
