One of his latest works is “Words of Hope.” This collage is entirely comprised of articles and headlines about the 2008 presidential campaign from Time Magazine (February-September 2008), torn and arranged to form a portrait of Barack Obama. The artist wanted to "recount HOPE this campaign has instilled in many Americans." The Papertocanvas website allows the viewer to move a magnifying glass to read the actual lines the artist chose. 10% of the proceeds of the limited-edition print goes to the Obama for America fund. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Collage Art:** Exploring the use of torn-paper collages as a medium for creating unique and impactful artworks. - **Political Portraits:** Creating portraits of political figures using unconventional materials and techniques to convey messages and emotions. - **Interactive Art Experience:** Developing digital platforms that enhance viewer engagement by allowing them to interact with and explore art in a new way. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can innovate by incorporating collage techniques into their work to create visually stunning and thought-provoking pieces. - **Political Campaigns:** Political campaigns can leverage non-traditional art forms, like collage portraits, to engage and resonate with voters on a deeper level. - **Technology and Digital Platforms:** Developing interactive digital platforms can revolutionize the way art is experienced and enhance viewer engagement for artists and galleries alike. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Frameable Jigsaw Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frameable-jigsaw-puzzle.md) - [Immigration System-Inspired Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/passport-series.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Travel-Inspired Canvas Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-passport-series.md) - [Celebratory Photo Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonic-editions.md) - [Artful Activism Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowflake-exhibition.md) - [Satirical Political Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thoughts-prayers-toilet-paper.md) - [Accessible Limited-Edition Print Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/limitededition-print-series.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md)
