American firm [SOM](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/supertall-skyscraper-1) has coupled with Danish studio Entasis to design an epic skyscraper, titled the 'Polestar Tower,' for the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. The proposal features a design that will reach 230 meters high, more than twice as high as the city's current tallest building, the 100-meter Gothia New Tower.

Beyond the height, the design plan draws inspiration from "ribbons blowing in the wind," featuring a fluid, twisting design. The tower, which will be residential in function, will serve as the focal point amongst an assemblage of [mid-rise buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vitra-2).

Beyond the single-storey flats and duplexes, the building will also accommodate a gym, residents' lounge, garden, [rooftop observation deck](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/observation-tower-krven) and a restaurant that's open to the general public.
