# Rainbow Foil Pavilions Poetic Cosmos of the Breath by Tomas Saraceno is Inflated at Dawn By Meghan Young | Published 2012-08-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poetic-cosmos-of-the-breath References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/tomas-saraceno-poetic-cosmos-of-the-breath) & [artscatalyst.org](http://www.artscatalyst.org/projects/detail/poeticcosmosofthebreath/) Argentina-born installation artist Tomas Saraceno often has his head in the clouds, which is a good thing because it yields such creations as Poetic Cosmos of the Breath. Abandoning the geometric structure often found in his work, such as the sculpture created for the [Met Exhibit](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artist-tomas-saraceno) and his [habitable floating platforms](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tomas-saraceno), this art installation is much more fluid in both looks and function. Commissioned for the 2nd International Artist Airshow in London, England, Poetic Cosmos of the Breath created a [spectacular sight at dawn](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/netherlands-pavilion). Pinned down with sand bags and regularly filled with air, the [giant and colorful, circular foil](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shen-sculpture) would interact with the morning light in a breathtaking way. Essentially becoming a magnificent rainbow orb, witnesses were encouraged to revel in the purity of its beauty. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Inflatable Art Installations:** Exploring the use of inflatable structures in art installations to create visually stunning and interactive experiences. - **Alternative Geometric Structures:** Breaking away from traditional geometric structures in art installations to create more fluid and dynamic compositions. - **Interactive Light Installations:** Using light as a medium to create immersive and captivating art installations that engage with viewers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore the use of inflatable structures and alternative geometric compositions to create innovative and visually striking installations. - **Event and Exhibition:** The event and exhibition industry can incorporate interactive light installations to enhance attendee experiences and create memorable events. - **Architecture and Construction:** The architecture and construction industry can adopt the concept of inflatable structures and alternative geometric compositions to design unique and unconventional buildings and structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Monumental Air Installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iwagumi-air-scape.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Eclipse-Themed Rooftop Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-zero.md) - [Reflective Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-caviar.md) - [Reflective Public Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flowers-and-butterflies-are-dancing.md) - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md)
