# Webbed Plywood Furniture The 'Mensa' Table By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2008-11-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plywood-furniture-mensa-table References: [apartmenttherapy](http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/tables-dining-occasional/mensa-dining-table-by-lazerian-068952) & [lazerian](http://www.lazerian.co.uk/prod-mensa.php) This webbed 'Mensa' table by Liam Hopkins and Richard Sweeney of Lazerian looks like mesh from afar, but it's actually made of plywood. The Lazerian 'Mensa' table is part of a series that will include a dining table, end table and coffee table. The curvature of the plywood base reminds me of a basketball net, although Lazerian's design is far more stable. The UK design firm is currently taking pre-orders for the 'Mensa' tables on their website. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Plywood Furniture Design:** Design firms can explore the use of plywood as an alternative to traditional materials for furniture design. - **Web Design Element Integration:** Web designers can explore the integration of web design elements into furniture design to create unique pieces. - **Sustainable Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can explore sustainable methods of producing furniture with alternative materials like plywood. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore the use of plywood as a sustainable alternative to traditional materials. - **Interior Design:** Design professionals can explore the use of web design elements in furniture design to enhance indoor spaces. - **E-commerce Retail:** Online retailers can explore the potential of offering sustainable furniture made with alternative materials like plywood. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Curvaceous Bench-Style Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shell-table.md) - [Artful Plywood Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bla-station.md) - [Fabric-Like Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablecloth-side-table.md) - [Paper Mable-Made Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bentley-home.md) - [Luxe Low-Slung Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/attraction-coffee-table.md) - [Paper-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocoon-coffee-table.md) - [Playful Wavy Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-table-design.md) - [Beautified Plywood Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plybord.md) - [Single-Piece Wooden Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slide-table-1.md)
