Aside from the generous flat surface for laptops and writing equipment, the desk features a [backboard-style portion that can hold books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-shelf-pro) and keep cords organized. This allows workers to keep their sights on their work rather than looking up and staring off into space. In essence, it works like a study carrell without cutting you off too much from your surroundings. The 'Copenhague' Molded Plywood Desk is the design work of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, and also comes in a [traditional table design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/single-desk) to make group work more productive. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Organizational Workstations:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Developing customizable workstations that provide designated spaces for different items and help users stay organized and focused. - **Integrated Cord Management:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Creating desks with built-in cord management systems to keep cables tidy and prevent them from becoming a distraction or safety hazard. - **Collaborative Office Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Designing furniture that promotes collaboration by providing a balance between individual workspaces and group work areas. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Office Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Rethinking the design and functionality of office furniture to cater to the evolving needs of productivity and organization. - **Workspace Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Creating innovative and ergonomic workspace designs that enhance productivity, focus, and collaboration. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Incorporating functional and stylish furniture solutions into interior design concepts to optimize productivity and organization in various settings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ergonomic Multi-Use Desk Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabinett-desk.md) - [Single-Piece Construction Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nook-desk.md) - [Elegant Working Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindset-builtin-computer-desk.md) - [Ultra-Organized Work Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-for-students.md) - [Minimalist Clutter-Free Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parallel-work-table.md) - [Modular Working Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-working-desk.md) - [Hyper-Customizable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hypercustomizable-desk.md) - [Minimalist Modular Creative Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-desk.md) - [Minimalist Demure Designer Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backup-desk.md)
