Branca is a Portuguese-based company that created this dynamic piece of furniture to resemble a shell. The curved shape of the chair is meant to surround one’s body and envelop them as they are sitting in it. The cocoon-like seat allows for the natural curvature of one’s body and can be filled with pillows and blankets for a more comfortable, Nordic-inspired design sensibility. The bold chair is made from plywood that is bent and cut into desired shapes that look effortlessly constructed. The Plywood Chair W_01 is both an eye-catching sculptural element as well as a comfortable chair to sit in. It is a functional statement piece that provides aesthetics and comfort for the design-savvy individual.
