The rubber shade is created to look like the necessary bathroom accessory but removes its embarrassing connotation by transforming it into a calm and modern [overhanging light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/domino-pendant). The Plunger Lamp's bamboo socket frame complements the oval shape of the rubber shade forming a subtle and alluring structure. Not overly imposing, the design of the lamp rests easily in the room while contributing to a variety of interior decor fashion senses. Available in a variety of colors, the Plunger Lamp is an excellent example of using [everyday materials as inspiration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allen-key-lamp) for modish refinements in fashionable accessories. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Plunger-inspired Decor:** Plunger-inspired decor is a trend that creatively incorporates bathroom accessories into stylish home furnishings, offering disruptive innovation opportunities for interior designers and home decor manufacturers. - **Playful Lighting Designs:** Playful lighting designs, like the Plunger Lamp, are gaining popularity in interior decor, presenting opportunities for designers to create unique and unconventional lighting fixtures that add a touch of whimsy to living spaces. - **Everyday Materials in Fashionable Accessories:** The use of everyday materials, such as rubber plunger shades, in fashionable accessories like the Plunger Lamp, showcases a trend of repurposing ordinary items with a modern twist, opening up possibilities for sustainable and innovative product design. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can capitalize on the plunger-inspired decor trend by creating innovative and stylish furnishings that incorporate bathroom accessories in a playful and aesthetically pleasing way. - **Lighting Fixtures:** The lighting fixtures industry has an opportunity to explore playful and unconventional designs, like the Plunger Lamp, that appeal to consumers looking for unique and eye-catching lighting options for their homes. - **Home Decor Accessories:** Home decor accessory manufacturers can tap into the trend of using everyday materials in fashionable accessories by creating products, such as the Plunger Lamp, that offer a modern and refined twist on ordinary household items. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Aesthetic Bathroom Plungers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-plunger.md) - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Pencil Shaving-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharpener-lampshades.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Inflatable Colorful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/squeeze-inflatable-lamp.md) - [Medical Equipment-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pond-lamp.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Organically Shaped Shadow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp.md)
