# Tipi Tripod Illuminators The Plockepinn Lamp Combines Light Fixture and Table in a Delightful Way By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-01-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plockepinn-lamp References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/52068/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/PLOCKEPINN-Table-Lamp/6566565) There are a few items on the market that satisfy as both a [light fixture and a side table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tap-tap-table-lamp), but the added appeal of the Plockepinn Lamp is its playful character. Designer Mårten Andersson could have minimally assembled a bulb, a post, a stand and a surface, yet he opted to compose a much more endearing object. The erectness of the [floor lamp portion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoop-table-lamp) relies on a pair of supportive inclined posts on which the longer wooden pole can lean. The arrangement here at the base is somewhat reminiscent of simple tepee construction. A circular plane with a hole in the center helps to keep the intersection of the pieces secure. A couple of other elements that make the Plockepinn Lamp so charming are its [vibrant color options](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp) and the way that its cord is woven down its spine. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Multi-functional Furniture:** The Plockepinn Lamp combines a light fixture and side table, showcasing the trend of multi-functional furniture. - **Playful Design:** The Plockepinn Lamp's playful character highlights the trend of incorporating whimsical design elements into everyday objects. - **Innovative Assembly:** The Plockepinn Lamp's unique construction showcases the trend of innovative assembly methods in product design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** The Plockepinn Lamp taps into the furniture design industry, offering potential for further exploration of multi-functional pieces. - **Interior Design:** The Plockepinn Lamp's vibrant color options and playful design make it a potential disruptor in the interior design industry. - **Product Manufacturing:** The Plockepinn Lamp's innovative assembly method could inspire disruptive innovations in the product manufacturing industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Compact Geometric Portable Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pivot-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Connected Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-led-floor-lamp.md) - [Portable Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grab-glow.md) - [Modular Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aplat.md) - [Character-Like Wireless Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puddy-table-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Tiltable Dimmable Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nod-lamp.md) - [Bold Playful Lighting Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp.md)
