# Striped Fabric Furniture The Plisado Collection Boasts AfroArt's Mira Maya Material By Meghan Young | Published 2012-03-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plisado-collection References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/folding-screen-and-magazine-rack-by-note-design-studio) & [notedesignstudio.se](http://notedesignstudio.se/note/folded-functionality/) The Plisado collection is comprised of two vibrant and colorful pieces: the Plisado Horizon and Plisado Arriba. The Plisado Horizon is a folding room divider while the Plisado Arriba is a ladder-like storage unit that is available in two sizes. Designed by [Stockholm](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragments)-based [Note Design Studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wekino-with), both pieces in the Plisado collection are made using Afroart’s [vibrant striped Mira Maya fabric](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lesire-collection). In doing so, the designers bring these beautiful, handcrafted, fair trade materials into the contract market. The result is a collection of stunning furniture from which any home or office would benefit. Dynamically hued and slightly slanted, the two designs in the Plisado collection would add a touch of character to any interior space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Vibrant Striped Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the use of vibrant striped fabrics in other furniture designs to create unique and eye-catching pieces. - **Handcrafted Fair Trade Materials:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate handcrafted fair trade materials into various industries such as fashion or home decor to appeal to socially conscious consumers. - **Colorful Room Dividers:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new and innovative designs for colorful room dividers to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of interior spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Experiment with using different fabrics and materials in furniture design to create unique and visually appealing pieces. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate vibrant striped fabrics into home decor products such as rugs, curtains, and throw pillows to add a pop of color and personality to living spaces. - **Fashion:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with handcrafted fair trade material suppliers to create sustainable and ethically produced fashion products that resonate with conscious consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Folded Vibrant Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plec-collection.md) - [Dynamic Vibrancy Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/porro-linea.md) - [Playful Structural Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palma-collection.md) - [Interdependency-Inspired Designer Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hilo.md) - [Sculptural Living Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cromatica.md) - [Oblong Color-Blocked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meritalia-morphologica-collection.md) - [Artful Plywood Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bla-station.md) - [Life-Exploring Colorful Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arper.md) - [Material Dialogue Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/agra-forma.md)
