Inspired by the [ancient Japanese art of origami](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita), designers Ying Zhang and Ida Thonsgaard created an intricate series of furniture called the 'Playtime' collection. When not in use, the furniture lies as flat as a piece of paper. However, when folded, it suddenly becomes detailed furniture with beautiful and distinct angles. Every piece in the collection fits together perfectly in order to form a chic furniture set.

While heavily inspired by origami, the furniture also explores Nordic textiles. Each item in the furniture collection either transforms into a [table or a stool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair) with patterns derived from Scandinavian culture. Tessellated wooden triangles that are coated in a textile laminate fold and flow into each other to create striking pieces of portable furniture.
