The Playstation Portable 2 was developed by designer Tai Chiem. Chiem came up with the idea when daydreaming of futuristic consoles. The display consists of a flexible OLED screen which can be rolled into the PSP when not in use. The new display for the Playstation Portable 2 would also be more energy efficient than the old version. I really like this concept, but I doubt that it will be ever put into production. What a pity. Nevertheless, this is great work by Tai Chiem. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Flexible OLED Screens:** The concept of flexible OLED screens in the Playstation Portable 2 could revolutionize the mobile gaming industry by providing a new level of convenience to users. - **Energy-efficient Displays:** The trend towards energy-efficient displays could lead to a more sustainable future for the gaming industry and other industries where displays are key. - **Daydreaming-inspired Innovations:** Daydreaming and creative thinking can inspire disruptive innovations like the Playstation Portable 2 concept, which can have a significant impact on various industries. ### Who This Affects Most - **Gaming:** The Playstation Portable 2 concept has the potential to disrupt the mobile gaming industry by introducing convenient, flexible OLED screens for a better gaming experience on the go. - **Display Manufacturing:** Energy-efficient displays like the one proposed for the Playstation Portable 2 could revolutionize the display manufacturing industry by driving a trend towards more sustainable manufacturing practices. - **Product Design:** Daydreaming and thinking outside the box, like designer Tai Chiem did when creating the Playstation Portable 2 concept, can lead to innovative product designs across various industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Powerful Portable Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-5-handheld-gaming-console.md) - [Handheld Gaming Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playfusion.md) - [Foldable Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-boy-flip-concept.md) - [Next-Gen Mobile Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steam-deck-2-concept.md) - [Sliding Gamer Smartphone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-playstation-xperia-smartphone.md) - [Projector-Equipped Handheld Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-game-boy-concept.md) - [Dual-Screen Gaming Handhelds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ayaneo-pocket-ds.md) - [Folded Gaming Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tam-tam.md) - [Industrial Handheld Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocketman-p1.md)
