The video game console is imagined with a decidedly industrial aesthetic that ditches smooth lines and surfaces in favor of a more utilitarian form. The console is imagined with a cyberpunk aesthetic that includes a new rendering of the [DualSense](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyperpop-ps5) controller that could be stored directly on the side for easy charging. The PlayStation 6 console concept imagines the upcoming 2027 hardware as a true departure from the current generation's aesthetics, but comes as entirely plausible given the direction of design aesthetics. The console is imagined in a variety of high-end finish options to fit in well within the modern living room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 18% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Industrial Design Aesthetics:** The PlayStation 6 console concept showcases a departure from smooth lines and surfaces, embracing a more utilitarian and industrial design aesthetic. - **Cyberpunk Inspiration:** The console concept incorporates a cyberpunk theme, creating a futuristic and edgy visual appeal. - **High-end Finish Options:** The PlayStation 6 console concept offers a variety of luxurious finishing choices, catering to the modern living room interior. ### Who This Affects Most - **Video Game Consoles:** The console concept presents an opportunity for video game console manufacturers to explore industrial design aesthetics and cyberpunk-inspired themes for their next-generation offerings. - **Product Design:** Industrial design firms can tap into the growing demand for futuristic and utilitarian aesthetics by incorporating cyberpunk-inspired elements into their product designs. - **Home Decor:** With its high-end finish options, the PlayStation 6 console concept presents an opportunity for the home decor industry to cater to consumers seeking cutting-edge and stylish entertainment devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Angular Next-Gen Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-6-concept.md) - [Minimalist Next-Gen Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-playstation-6-concept.md) - [Contoured Gaming Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-5-console-concept.md) - [Pro-Grade Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-playstation-5-pro-concept.md) - [VR-Focused Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-5-pro-concept.md) - [Powerful Portable Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-5-handheld-gaming-console.md) - [Industrial Translucent Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-game-controller.md) - [Next-Gen Handheld Gamer Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-portable.md) - [AI-Driven Video Game Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-playstation-5-pro.md)
