# Skateable Pyramid Art Installations PlayLab Inc Works with Vans on a Bright Yellow Skate Ramp By Amy Duong | Published 2024-03-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playlab References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2024/02/29/playlab-inc-vans-skate-ramp-sterling-ruby-la-art-week/) & [playlab.org](https://www.playlab.org/) California design studio [PlayLab Inc](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yellow-toy-racetrack) works together with footwear imprint [Vans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vans-west-end) to create a large pyramid art structure which is also a skate ramp. It is located in Downtown Los Angeles and has a bright yellow look nestled between two buildings by the LA River. This is a part of the city's art week and it was all made possible with the help of American artist Sterling Ruby to honor the launch of his ['Clash the Wall' shoe for Vans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sr-studio-la-ca-x-vans). Co-founder of PlayLab, Archie Lee Coates IV speaks about the project to Dezeen, stating "We wanted to take an iconic form in skate culture, the hill, and interpret it into a surreal sculpture. At the center of the installation is a pyramid, split and shifted to create angles and edges for skaters to play off of. This pyramid is placed within a massive cyc wall, which serves both as a skate feature and an immersive visual color field."
