# Activity Box Workstations The Play Ground Play Table Lets Adults Play in One Place By Elsa Blaine | Published 2010-01-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/play-ground-play-table References: [3rings.designerpages](http://3rings.designerpages.com/2010/01/07/nothing-design-groups-play-ground-play-table/#more-18215) & [designnothing](http://www.designnothing.com/) The Play Ground Play Table is like a busy box for adults. Created by Jin-Woog Koo, director of the [Nothing Design Group](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phone-4b), the tabletop is composed of several compartments in which different items are placed to make your day at the office more interesting. Patches of grass, sand, [rock gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arrakis-30), plants and even living fish are all easily accessible by sliding around the actual [work surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table); a clear sheet of acrylic resting on ball bearings. Working at this daydream-inducing desktop would truly stir ones imagination; picturing yourself on a beach playing in the sand, tending the garden or wondering just what that fish is thinking. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Activity Box Workstations:** Creating workstations that blur the line between work and play, offering innovative ways to approach tasks - **Interactive Office Decor:** Designing interactive office decor that can create a more engaging and soothing work environment - **Bringing Nature Indoors:** Developing indoor settings that mimic the natural world can reduce stress and promote relaxation ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Incorporating playful elements into furniture design can add an element of whimsy to workspaces - **Office Supplies & Accessories:** Incorporating natural elements into office supplies and accessories can promote a calming workspace - **Architectural Design:** Designing offices with natural elements like plant walls, water features, and living surfaces can improve productivity and wellbeing ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Play-Friendly Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-concept.md) - [Workstation Zen Garden Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desktop-zen-garden.md) - [Comical Desk-Side Status Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-fence.md) - [Beach-Inspired Desk Trios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deskterior.md) - [Integrated Planter Worktables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantable-office.md) - [Minimalist Clutter-Free Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parallel-work-table.md) - [Soothing Tetrapod Desk Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seawall-desk-accessories.md) - [Desktop Miniature Sports Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-beach-volleyball.md) - [Modular Working Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-working-desk.md)
