# Base-Illuminating Bureaus The Static Plastic Table By Han Koning is a Literal Table Lamp By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-05-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plastic-table References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/fresh2/2013/05/17/static-plastic-table-by-han-koning-done.php) & [hankoning.nl](http://www.hankoning.nl/new/) Taking the term [table lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juba-tl1-table-lamp) very seriously, the Static Plastic Table design features a wide-legged base that lights up from within. Part of the Static Plastic furniture collection by designer Han Koning, this table is meant to be, as the product page explains, "a setting in which anything may be displayed to best advantage." The organic triangular shape features rounded corners which could sit well in the corner of a room or along a strategic wall. One side of the table surface is interrupted by a small hole with a power cord that extends from the base. Plug the Static Plastic Table into the wall and enjoy a [romantically lit dinner](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tap-tap-table-lamp) for the modern couple. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Illuminated Furniture:** Designing furniture with built-in lighting elements for a unique and atmospheric aesthetic. - **Triangular Shapes:** Incorporating triangular shapes in furniture designs for a modern and edgy look. - **Multi-purpose Furniture:** Creating furniture that serves multiple functions, such as displaying objects and providing lighting. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Exploring innovative ways to incorporate lighting and unique shapes into furniture designs. - **Interior Design:** Using illuminated furniture to enhance the ambiance and visual appeal of interior spaces. - **Home Decor:** Offering customers furniture options that not only serve functional purposes but also add aesthetic value to their homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sleek Rechargeable Marbled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solid-table-light.md) - [Elegant Compact Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light.md) - [Origami-Inspired Lit Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightup.md) - [Dimmable Structural Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mantle.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Paper Lantern-Inspired Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nendo-andon-table.md) - [Dynamic Bookend Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stair-table.md) - [Modern Dynamic Structural Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-table-light.md) - [Plant-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palmetto-lamp.md)
