As part of The Ocean Series, Bloem introduced a 100% recycled plastic planter that helps to remove plastic waste from the water and repurpose curbside waste.
Although ocean plastic can be challenging to work with when it comes to achieving the right color consistency, Bloem developed a solution that's high-quality and aesthetically pleasing. The manufacturing process begins with collecting waste like water bottles, straws, packaging and more from shorelines across Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Canada. With this series, Bloem will be using over a million pounds of plastic waste—with about 25% of that reprocessed material coming from marine waste and 75% from curbside waste.
