# Contemporary Concrete Planters The Plantrellis Collection by Luca Nichetto is a Living Divider By Meghan Young | Published 2013-04-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantrellis-collection References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/plantrellis-by-luca-nichetto-for-berga/) & [lucanichetto](http://www.lucanichetto.com/ita/Projects/All-projects/Plantrellis) The Plantrellis Collection is a step up from [traditional terracotta planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cottomilano) often used for both large and small foliage. With a wide concrete base and colorful open wire trellises, the designs featured in the Plantrellis Collection enhance the beauty of the plants they hold in a way that will fit into many homes and offices. Designed by Luca Nichetto for Berga, the Plantrellis Collection can serve more purpose than simply [holding plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere) as well. They can be lined up in such a way as to create a natural path or even an impromptu divider. Available in three different sizes and colors, the Plantrellis Collection can also be left flush against the wall as a living art piece. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Concrete Planters:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop lightweight and customizable concrete planters for urban gardening. - **Open Wire Trellises:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create modular and adjustable open wire trellises for vertical gardening in limited spaces. - **Living Art Pieces:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine planters and artwork to create customizable living art pieces for interior design. ### Where This Applies - **Gardening and Landscaping:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce sustainable and space-saving gardening solutions for urban environments. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design planters with integrated technology, such as smart irrigation systems or self-watering mechanisms. - **Office Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop planters that contribute to improved indoor air quality and employee well-being in office spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Trellis-Equipped Indoor Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blume-planter.md) - [Luxurious Minimalist Planter Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-planter-set.md) - [Oversized Colorful Dynamic Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tfm.md) - [Plant-Friendly Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jcp-universe-coloniae.md) - [Office-Space Luscious Planets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bisley.md) - [Modular Urban Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planter-300.md) - [Concrete Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ancora.md) - [Bold Hand-Crafted Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handcrafted-planters.md) - [Dynamic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-planters-1.md)
