While lush foliage can really liven a place up, many people think of potted plants as accessories to furnishing and decor, and often don't even think about putting any on display at all. Called the Plame coffee table, this piece represents a contemporary fascination with merging two objects into one, enabling some from of efficiency––which is spatial, in this case. The [meandering surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables) of this piece of furniture has a very deliberate kink in the MDF that enables the abstractly shaped vase to be slotted in snugly. Though it can be removed, this special niche in Jaime Andres Quinapallo Salcedo's planter table seems to ensure that you meet your minimum leafy quota while designating open areas for the storage of many other items. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 76% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Merging Objects:** The trend of merging two objects into one creates opportunities for innovative and efficient designs. - **Incorporating Greenery:** The trend of incorporating plants into furniture offers opportunities for businesses to create unique and eco-friendly home decor. - **Efficient Spatial Design:** The trend of designing furniture with efficient spatial features provides opportunities for space-saving solutions in interior design. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can explore innovative ways to merge objects and incorporate greenery into their designs. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can tap into the trend of incorporating plants into furniture to offer unique and nature-inspired products. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can leverage the trend of efficient spatial design to provide space-saving solutions for clients. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Integrated Planter Worktables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantable-office.md) - [Plant-Friendly Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jcp-universe-coloniae.md) - [Dynamic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-planters-1.md) - [Terrarium Stool Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wild-stool.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Retro-Modern Ashtray Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/houseplant-side-table-ashtray.md) - [Multifunctional Plant Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/face-plant-planter.md) - [Illusory Planter Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rooted-planter.md) - [Plant-Cultivating Home Furnishings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-4.md)
