Designed by the [Mortar - Pull](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mortar-house-office)+Push design firm, the Haisui planter is handcrafted by Nobuhiro Sato and is intended to be placed on a [desktop or anywhere else one desires](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/izestee). When filled with soil, seeds and water, the Haisui planter will enable the sprouts to grow upward through the drain grates to show how a plant can overcome manmade obstacles. The Haisui planter container is crafted from concrete and a steel drain cover, and features a price tag of roughly $647.47 USD. This makes it a beautiful but pricy addition to a [modern workstation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantable-office). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Resilient Planters:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating more planters that highlight the resilience of plants in overcoming man-made obstacles. - **Desktop Gardening:** An opportunity exists to create more desk-friendly planters like the Haisui Planter Container. - **Concrete Gardening:** Developing concrete-based planters poses numerous opportunities to bring in new designs and styles to the planters market. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home & Garden:** There are opportunities for home & garden companies to create more innovative planters that appeal to a wider audience. - **Interior Design:** Interior design professionals can leverage such planters to add an interesting dimension to the overall design schemes. - **Architecture:** Architects could explore the possibility of designing buildings with permanent planters that showcase the resilience of plants in unique ways. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Self-Watering Compact Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patella-crescenda.md) - [Uniquely Shaped Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-watering-plant-house.md) - [Self-Watering Desk Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha.md) - [Water Catch-Integrated Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere.md) - [Gentle Slant Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-planter.md) - [Rainwater Multifunctional Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raindrop-1.md) - [Chic Self-Watering Garden Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glowpear-mini-bench.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Modular Urban Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planter-300.md)
