# Organic Androids The Plant O Bot is a Nice Piece of Grassroots Innovation By Alex Scott | Published 2010-04-02 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-o-bot References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/Gallery/plant-o-bot/470377) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/bharoto) Who wouldn't love a giant plant-filled robot watching over their park? The Plant O Bot was created for a mascot competition for Central Park in Jakarta, Indonesia. Created by Bharoto Yekti, this little guy features a simple, yet appealing design that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. I personally think the Plant O Bot would make for a great indoor planter. Those who like to have flowers or miniature gardens year round would love a design like this where you can plant seeds in the robot's head and watch him grow some wild green hair like a futuristic Chia Pet. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Robotic Landscaping:** Opportunity for companies to develop similar plant-filled robots to enhance outdoor spaces and create a unique visual experience for urban areas. - **Indoor Planters:** Companies can utilize the novelty of plant-filled robots like the Plant O Bot to create innovative indoor planters for homes and offices. - **Childish Design:** A trend towards simple and playful designs for products targeted towards children, such as the Plant O Bot. ### Who This Affects Most - **Landscaping:** The Plant O Bot presents an opportunity for businesses in the landscaping industry to incorporate similar plant-filled robots in their projects as a unique feature. - **Home Decor:** The Plant O Bot's design can be used as a creative and eye-catching addition to a wide range of home decor products. - **Toy Manufacturing:** The Plant O Bot serves as a great example of simple and playful toy designs for children, opening possibilities for novel and creative toys in the industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Virtual Pet Planter Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-pot-concept.md) - [Cult Film-Inspired Pet Plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-1.md) - [Climate-Controlled Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-flower-system.md) - [Portable Minimal Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balconyfarm-planter.md) - [Digital Interaction Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planta-planter.md) - [Modular Automated Indoor Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totam-planter.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vegetment-vegetable-cultivator.md) - [Beetle-Inspired Sustainable Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fog-smart.md) - [Basket-Inspired Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-engine-spot.md)
