# Hanging Terrarium Lamps The 'Mygdal' Plant Light Incorporates a Living Shrub into the Illuminator By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-03-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-light References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/03/10/let-there-be-plantlight/) & [we-love-eames](http://we-love-eames.com/) The incorporation of plants into a living space is said to have a number of benefits, but for those without space to do so the 'Mygdal' plant light could offer a solution. Almost like a [mini terrarium for tiny plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydroponics-garden) to live inside, the lamp features conductive glass that allows the electricity to be fluidly transported without direct connectivity. A bright source of light for modern [living spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biophilic-lighting), the 'Mygdal' [plant light features an LED light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planto) and works as a self-sustaining unit. It won't require extensive care or sunlight in order to keep the plant flourishing, which will be welcome news to anyone who lives in a dwelling that lacks natural light. The light is the work of design studio 'We Love Eames.' ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 100% | Activity: 100% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Indoor Gardening:** Opportunity to develop similar self-sustaining plant designs for indoor use. - **Sustainable Lighting:** Opportunity to explore new ways of bringing natural elements into modern living spaces. - **Smart Home Lighting:** Opportunity to develop innovative, multifunctional lighting fixtures for smart homes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Opportunity to create unique and innovative lighting fixtures that also add to home decor. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to integrate indoor gardening and sustainable lighting into interior design projects. - **Smart Home Technology:** Opportunity for smart home technology developers to incorporate self-sustaining plant designs into their products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Posh Plant-Supporting Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ample-plant-light-n1.md) - [Plant-Supporting Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-growlight.md) - [Self-Watering Multifunctional Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grow-lamp.md) - [Plant-Cultivating Home Furnishings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-4.md) - [Indoor Plant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-plants1.md) - [Money Plant-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pilea-lamp.md) - [Plant-Based Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-lamp.md) - [Garden-Integrated Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-gardening-1.md) - [Ambient Grow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aura-ambient-grow-light.md)
