Designed by Ajay Choudhary, the 'BEBE' system works by being filled with water and stuck into the surrounding soil of a potted plant. The unit will [automatically dispense water](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha) as required for the specific kind of plant that's being cared for. The 'BEBE' smart plant care watering system only needs to be refilled every couple days or weeks depending on the amount of water being used. When it does come time to refill the 'BEBE,' the clever device will send users a notification on their smartphone to let them know it's time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Plant Care Systems:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced plant care systems that not only water plants but also monitor and adjust temperature, lighting, and soil conditions. - **Automated Watering Systems:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create automated watering systems that can be integrated into existing irrigation systems, reducing water waste and improving efficiency. - **Smart Notifications for Plant Care:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Build smart notification systems that can alert plant owners when it's time to water, fertilize, or perform other plant care tasks based on real-time data. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Smart Home Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop integrated smart home technology that includes plant care systems as part of the automated ecosystem. - **Agriculture and Farming:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Apply automated plant care technologies to large-scale agriculture and farming operations to improve crop yield and reduce water consumption. - **Gardening and Landscaping:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design automated plant care systems specifically tailored for gardening and landscaping, providing hassle-free maintenance for outdoor spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connected Plant Hydration Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/growcube-smart-watering-system.md) - [Automated Plant Care Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-plant-care-system.md) - [Plant Watering Smart Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/growcube.md) - [Climate-Controlled Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-flower-system.md) - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md) - [Automated Plant Irrigation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-irrigation.md) - [AI-Powered Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leafypod.md) - [Modular Automated Indoor Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totam-planter.md) - [Automated Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-evergrow.md)
