The table maintains a series of wood pieces for the base, which are topped with large additional pieces secured. This allows the table to maintain an almost [stacked appearance](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vtna-table), while still maintaining total structural integrity that's ready for dining and more. The Plane Dining Table is designed in several finish options and evenly spreads its weight over two legs rather than the traditional four. This gives the furniture piece an intentionally delicate appearance that looks like it could topple over at any moment. The table also maintains an optical illusion-like form that looks different from every angle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 13% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity lies in creating furniture designs that exhibit minimalistic attributes while incorporating engaging elements. - **Optical Illusion Furnishings:** Innovative designers can create furniture pieces that incorporate architectural elements to create optical illusions that make the furniture appear to have a different shape from every angle. - **Two-legged Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunities may exist in creating furniture pieces that capture the essence of traditional functionality with a two-legged structure that's aesthetically pleasing. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturing companies can leverage optical illusions and engage minimalist designs when developing pieces. - **Retail:** Retailers can offer engaging and structurally innovative minimalist designs to cater to consumers’ demands for aesthetically pleasing, yet functional pieces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate minimalist furniture pieces into their designs while integrating optical illusions to play with the space perception. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mid-Century Sculpted Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plane-lounge-chair.md) - [Sculptural Meeting Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planar-table.md) - [Juxtaposing Material Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compression-dining-table.md) - [Skeletal Industrial Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/landr-dining-and-conference-table.md) - [Sturdy Minimalist Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sturdy-minimalist-table.md) - [Elegant Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-table.md) - [Rustic Recycled Wood Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/primitive-structures-table-design.md) - [Wooden Table-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tidone.md) - [Single-Piece Wooden Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slide-table-1.md)
