# Tilting Table Lamps The Placa Lamp by Goncalo Campos Looks Like it's Wilting By Summer Luu | Published 2011-03-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/placa-lamp-by-goncalo-campos References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2011/03/07/the-placa-lamp-by-goncalo-campos/) & [goncalocampos](http://www.goncalocampos.com/) Instead of the usual upright position that most table lamps have, the Placa Lamp by Goncalo Campos droops downwards, resembling a wilting flower. The very [simple table lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mute-lamp) is actually quite beautiful in a very minimal and serene way. The tilted lamp sits on a [solid ash-wooden board](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flatpack-timber-lamp), creating a little platform for placing other objects on top of it. The lamp shade, made of black velvet material, cleverly drops towards the light switch as if to point it out on the wooden plank. It's nice placement instead of it being on the cord like other lighting fixtures. Despite its simplicity, the Placa Lamp by Goncalo Campos has a quiet and unique character due to its [withering structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-planter) that is captivating. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Tilting Lamps:** Designing lamps that have a tilted or drooping position for a minimalist, unique and captivating look. - **Ash-wood Board Platforms:** Creating solid ash-wooden board platforms for placing other objects on top of table lamps. - **Black Velvet Lamp Shade:** Integrating black velvet material in the design of table lamp shades. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Decor:** Developing unique and captivating lamp designs that enhance interior decor for homes and offices. - **Furniture:** Creating solid ash-wooden board platforms for tables, shelves, and other types of furniture. - **Textile Manufacturing:** Exploring the use of black velvet material in the creation of lamp shades and other home textile products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reversible Glass Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jal.md) - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Elegant Compact Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light.md) - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Plant-Based Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-lamp.md) - [Interactive Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tap-tap-table-lamp.md) - [Plant-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palmetto-lamp.md) - [Dimmable Structural Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mantle.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md)
