This is especially the case for packaging that end up in the recycling bin no matter what like [pizza boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lockable-pizza-boxes). Conceived by Ilya Andreev, a graphic designer based in Russia, the Pizza Box Laptop Stand uses a standard cardboard takeout box. While Andreev utilized a local Mama Roma pizza box, any 'brand' will do. He has then graphically visualized the folds needed to convert it into a working [laptop stand](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mossion-m1). Like one big, practical origami project, a person then folds it into the Pizza Box Laptop Stand. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Upcycling Packaging:** The trend of upcycling packaging materials, like pizza boxes, into functional products offers disruptive innovation opportunities for designers and manufacturers to create sustainable and unique solutions. - **DIY Laptop Accessories:** The DIY laptop accessories trend presents an opportunity for entrepreneurs to develop customizable and cost-effective solutions that enhance user experience and provide creative alternatives to traditional laptop stands. - **User-generated Innovations:** The rise of user-generated innovations, such as the Pizza Box Laptop Stand, showcases the potential for individuals to repurpose everyday materials and inspire others to create their own unique solutions. ### Where This Applies - **Packaging:** Packaging industry players can explore innovative ways to design and manufacture eco-friendly packaging materials that can be easily repurposed for other functional uses, promoting sustainability and reducing waste. - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can tap into the DIY laptop accessories trend by developing modular, customizable, and user-friendly laptop stands and accessories that empower users to personalize their devices. - **Product Design:** The field of product design is a prime industry to leverage the user-generated innovations trend, encouraging designers to create products that can be repurposed or reimagined by users, fostering collaboration and creativity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pop-Up Pizza Box Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-box-table.md) - [Portable Foldable Lap Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pi-lap-desk.md) - [Ultra-Portable Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-desk-design.md) - [Laptop-Stowing Portable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapcase.md) - [Origami-Inspired Laptop Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-x9-sleeve.md) - [Highly Portable Laptop Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maxtand-20.md) - [Take-Out Box Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablebag.md) - [Slender Ergonomic Laptop Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onepiece-laptop-stand.md) - [Functional Device-Charging Computer Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/molo-computer-stand.md)
