# Twisted Grid Towers This Pixelated Office Building Parametrically Consumes Its Irregular Site By Amelia Roblin | Published 2015-01-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixelated-office-building References: [archdaily](http://www.archdaily.com/591401/paolo-venturella-s-molise-headquarters-to-feature-rotating-parametric-pixels/) & [paoloventurella.it](http://www.paoloventurella.it/parametric-steps/) In a world with so many [rigid and rectangular skyscrapers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ndarja), something like this pixelated office building certainly stands out. Extending from the rigid footprint of the urban grid, this edifice assumes a large and asymmetrical site, using it for both infrastructure and [outdoor space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ola-palermo) in an overlapping manner. Paolo Venturella Architecture of Italy proposes this unique solution for the new Molise Headquarters. Occupying the area of an unused sports field, the beginnings of a boxy structure appear to separate and splay into a multilevel lot. The treads and risers of these step-like elements are colored contrastingly in muted tones, accentuating the dynamic and axial arrangement of the distorted complex. The pixelated office building diverges from strict architectural norms, presenting a clever and contemporary solution to uniting landscape and edifice in the city. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Pixelated Architecture:** Exploring unconventional designs that break away from rigid and rectangular forms, providing innovative and visually striking solutions for urban spaces. - **Parametric Design:** Using algorithms and computational tools to generate complex designs that respond to the unique characteristics of a site, offering opportunities for adaptive and site-specific architecture. - **Integration of Landscape and Architecture:** Blending outdoor spaces and infrastructure in a seamless and harmonious way, creating new possibilities for urban environments that prioritize the connection between built and natural environments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Architects and designers can push boundaries and challenge traditional norms by experimenting with pixelated architecture and parametric design, offering clients unique and innovative building solutions. - **Real Estate Development:** Real estate developers can seize opportunities to create distinctive and visually appealing projects by embracing pixelated architecture and integrating landscape elements, attracting potential buyers seeking unique and aesthetically pleasing spaces. - **Urban Planning:** Urban planners can incorporate the concept of integrating landscape and architecture into their designs, promoting sustainable urban development and fostering a stronger sense of connection between city dwellers and their surroundings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stacked Pebble-Inspired Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calais-port-tower.md) - [Layered Office Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schieblocks.md) - [Glossy Panelled Pentagonal Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinwheel.md) - [Warped Stacked Residence Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quinta-do-rei.md) - [Pixelated Illusion Housing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/van-b.md) - [Gridded Urban Apartment Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-carboneria.md) - [Square-Shaped High-Rise Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ndarja.md) - [Organic Striking Tower Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-leaves.md) - [Gridded Screen Apartment Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residential-building-1.md)
