The [cylindrical basin](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terra-frammenti) comes with hundreds of cubes that stick out from its base, and consumers can chip those cubes away with a chisel to create pixellated graphics on its surface. Part of the appeal of the Pixel Basin is thus the experience it offers (as opposed to the pure aesthetic value alone.) Made out of supple [Carrara marble](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marble-lab), the Pixel Basin offers consumers the unique opportunity to actually carve something out of marble — a material that even professional sculptors might not get the chance to work on over the course of their careers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Customized Marble Products:** The Pixel Basin demonstrates a trend towards customizable marble products, allowing consumers to actively participate in the design process. - **DIY Home Decor:** The Pixel Basin taps into the trend of DIY home decor, providing an interactive experience for consumers to create personalized designs. - **Marble as a Creative Medium:** The Pixel Basin highlights the trend of using marble as a creative medium, showcasing the potential for innovative and unique marble designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Improvement:** The customizable marble sink trend presents an opportunity for the home improvement industry to offer innovative DIY products to consumers. - **Art and Design:** The use of marble as a creative medium opens up opportunities for the art and design industry to explore new forms of expression and craftsmanship. - **Luxury Home Goods:** The customizable marble sink trend creates opportunities for luxury home goods brands to cater to consumers seeking personalized and unique products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Marble Slab Washbasins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piano-washbasin.md) - [Dynamic Marble Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinito.md) - [Textural Bathroom Sink Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washbasin-collection.md) - [Angular Ceramic Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/angle-washbasin.md) - [Electric Kiln-Made Unique Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volta-1.md) - [Collaborative Seashell-Like Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spire-washbasin.md) - [Playful Concrete Wash Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kast-wave-collection.md) - [Ultra-Modern Freestanding Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freestanding-sink.md) - [Dual-Use Ceramic Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luneup.md)
