Pixar is known for creating works that are both child-friendly and adult worthy, but sometimes a storyline revolving around friendship and PG-13 love stories can get somewhat dull. Artist Phil Postma infuses the character stylings of Pixar with comic book series such as Flash Gordon, The Shadow, Dick Tracy and The Phantom. All the renderings showcase that familiar Pixar style most people will recognize, but with a more adult twist. The illustrations capture the essence of old school comics and modern-age media that's sure to satisfy many baby boomers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Animation-Inspired Collaborative Streetwear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixar-collection.md) - [Animation-Inspired Themed Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixar-place-hotel.md) - [Reimagined Film Brick-Form Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bricktoons.md) - [Holiday Animation Capsule](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kith-x-pixar-holiday-2025.md) - [Revived Retro Animations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stranger-things-animated-series.md) - [Film-Inspired Cooking Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cooking-with-pixar-series.md) - [Superhero-Inspired Comic Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marvel-collection.md) - [Comic Book Hero Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comic-book-heros.md) - [Personalized Comic Book Creation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamcanvas.md)
