# Intentionally Stuffing Noses Pit Stoppers Are Nose Plugs That Keep Fluids In By IdeaMan | Published 2009-02-22 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pit-stoppers-nose-plugs-that-keep-water-in References: [translate.google](http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=hp&hl=en&u=http://bio-pit.com/&sl=ja&tl=en) I’m not sure which is worse, a runny nose or one that’s completely stopped up. If you’re inclined to think the former, you may be interested in the Pit Stopper. It’s a nose plug that keeps water (and, um, other stuff) *in* instead of keeping water *out*! Evidently, pollen season is a big problem in Japan, although I’ve been there at that time of year and didn’t have any issues. Many people there wear masks to try to cut down on their exposure. If I had severe pollen allergies, I might be tempted to try the “Nose Mask Pit” instead, which is basically a [filter instead your nose](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nasal-irrigation-system) instead of a stopper. Neither would seem to be very comfortable though! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Viral](https://www.trendhunter.com/viral) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Nose Plugs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop more comfortable and effective nose plugs for individuals with allergies. - **Pollen Season:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative solutions to reduce the impact of pollen allergies, such as advanced air filtration systems for homes and workplaces. - **Nose Masks:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design more comfortable and inconspicuous nose masks that provide effective filtration for individuals with pollen allergies. ### Where This Applies - **Healthcare:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop specialized healthcare products and treatments to alleviate symptoms and improve quality of life for individuals with allergies. - **Personal Care:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative personal care products, such as allergy-friendly cosmetics and skin care, for individuals with allergies. - **Home and Office Supplies:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Produce advanced air cleaning and filtration systems for homes and workplaces to reduce allergens like pollen. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sleep Support Nose Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knocked-nose-strips.md) - [Disposable Nose Vapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nose-vape.md) - [Nasal Passage-Cleansing Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nasoclenz.md) - [Pocket-Sized Nasal Inhalers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snufff.md) - [Tech-Powered Nasal Therapy Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nasal-therapy-device.md) - [Nasal Breathing Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nasal-breathing.md) - [Declogging Nasal EMS Massagers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nasocalm.md) - [Disinfecting Nasal Sprays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fend-nasal-spray.md) - [Natural Remedy Nasal Sprays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/decongestant-nasal-spray-1.md)
