As its name gives away, the backrest is made up of giant ball-ended pins like those typical in sewing and alterations. Of course, since they are made out of wood rather than metal, the back of the Pinsofa 1 could also be mistaken for enlarged toothpicks. Designed by Demeter Fogarasi during a project called The New Textile Furniture at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design, the Pinsofa 1 is subtly abstract and entirely modern.
