# Garden Seed Packaging Pinch of Soil by Yara Marie Sayad is Efficiently Designed & Multi-Functional By Meghan Young | Published 2016-04-01 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinch-of-soil References: [packagingoftheworld](http://www.packagingoftheworld.com/2016/03/pinch-of-soil-student-project.html) & [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/Yara-Marie) When you look at the packaging of the Pinch of Soil brand, you may not guess what's inside -- the name aside, of course. Made to hold a single bulb or four for gardening, the designs are unexpectedly contemporary. Although it's hard to pinpoint what might be held in the Pinch of Soil packaging, the earthy tons do suggest something related to nature. Designed by Yara Marie Sayad, a student studying at [Pratt Institute](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compostable-water-filters), the Pinch of Soil packaging was made to be extremely efficient and multi-functional. Packaging of the World writes, "The wooden part of the package becomes a spork, which can be used to dig and pour the grains. It then becomes the label for the [flower planted in the pot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha). Therefore, the package becomes the gardening tools for the flowers." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Eco-friendly Packaging:** Pinch of Soil packaging provides opportunities for eco-friendly packaging innovation. - **Multi-functional Packaging:** Pinch of Soil packaging provides opportunities for multi-functional packaging innovation. - **Sustainable Gardening:** Pinch of Soil packaging provides opportunities for innovation in sustainable gardening methods. ### Where This Applies - **Packaging Industry:** Pinch of Soil packaging provides opportunities for innovative packaging solutions in the industry. - **Gardening Industry:** Pinch of Soil packaging provides opportunities for innovative and sustainable gardening methods in the industry. - **Sustainability Industry:** Pinch of Soil packaging provides opportunities for innovative sustainability solutions in the industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Zero-Waste Seedling Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bough-pot.md) - [Self-Watering Compact Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patella-crescenda.md) - [Fully Compostable Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compostable-seed-packaging.md) - [Uniquely Shaped Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-watering-plant-house.md) - [Bird-Shaped Food Packagings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bigbilled-bird-food-concept.md) - [Nature-Inspired Design Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-2.md) - [Naturalistic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apot-selfwatering-planter.md) - [Convenient Cherry Tomato Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/special-edition-cherry-tomato.md) - [Eco-Friendly Root Vegetable Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compostable-packaging-concept.md)
