Conceived by Tim Sway, an artist based in Wallingford, Connecticut, the pinball machine desk was upcycled from a [vintage Charlie's Angels pinball machine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintage-billiards-table). The electrical components removed, a hole was cut on one side and finally a drawer, cabinet and new sheet metal flashing were added. Although it looks like a traditional desk in shape, it is far from typical in spirit. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Upcycled Furniture:** Repurposing vintage items into functional furniture pieces presents an opportunity for unique and eco-friendly designs. - **Quirky Workspaces:** Creating work environments that incorporate playful and unconventional elements can boost creativity and productivity. - **Youthful Energy in Design:** Infusing furniture and office spaces with a youthful and energetic aesthetic can appeal to younger generations. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** The furniture industry can explore upcycling as a way to create innovative and sustainable products. - **Office Design:** Companies specializing in office design can incorporate playful and unconventional elements into workspaces to foster creativity and engagement. - **Vintage Collectibles:** The vintage collectibles market can offer opportunities for repurposing nostalgic items into functional and desirable furniture pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Video Game-Inspired Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pac-man-side-table.md) - [Digitized Pinball Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skillshot-fx-digital-pinball.md) - [Humorous Quick Cleanup Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flip-desk-concept.md) - [All-Digital Pinball Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toyshock-21c-digital.md) - [Digital Marble Tabletop Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funpop-tabletop-pinball-game.md) - [Futuristic Sculptural Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arnardo-desk.md) - [Modular Play-Friendly Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-concept.md) - [Korean Game-Inspired Desk Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playful-desk-accessories.md) - [Nostalgic 3D-Printed Arcade Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade-clock.md)
