Singular white columns with clean lines define the contemporary style of the home, located in the Wairarapa region of Westwood. The architects were tasked with connecting the [indoor and outdoor spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-waverley-house) within the context of specific activities. Keeping the environmental impact minimal was also important to the architects, who focused on [natural light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-under-the-poplars), and other aspects of Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ). The home was specifically designed to allow the maximum amount of sunlight into the interior as possible. Overall, the house accommodates a seamless relationship between the interior and exterior, successfully fostering the development of recreational and leisure activities. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Seamless Integration of Indoor and Outdoor Spaces:** Opportunities for innovative technology and design solutions to create more efficient and sustainable homes. - **Clean Contemporary Architecture:** Opportunities for modern construction companies to create visually stunning and minimalist homes. - **Focus on Indoor Environmental Quality:** Opportunities for businesses specializing in natural lighting, HVAC systems, and sustainable materials to improve the health and wellness of residential spaces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Construction:** Innovative building materials, techniques, and technology can help create more environmentally sustainable dwellings. - **Home Automation:** Smart home technology can improve the functionality and energy efficiency of modern homes. - **Interior Design:** Designers can incorporate natural lighting and sustainable materials to improve the overall well-being of those living in modern homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Coastal Metal Minimal Dwellings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rk-residence.md) - [Columned Entrance Family Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/6-columns.md) - [Coastal Island Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasparakisfriel.md) - [Simple Material Family Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/openfield-house.md) - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Temple-Inspired Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/j-kidman-architecture.md) - [Glass-Lined Corridor Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tranquil-abiding.md) - [Multigenerational Modern Twin-Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-with-one-pillar.md) - [Terraced Light Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-under-the-poplars.md)
