Although there have been some more experimental designs including the [Barcelona Bird Pavilion](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barcelona-bird-pavilion), [Nido Birdhouse](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nido-birdhouses) and the [Nendo Bird Apartment](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nendo-birdapartment), the Picto Birdhouse is contemporary in all the ways that count. From its soft cartoonish shape to the bright neon colors, it adds a fun touch to the yard without standing out like a sore thumb, especially since it keeps the classic form of a house. Designed by Laure Joye and Nicolas Bonnet, the best feature of the Picto Birdhouse is the glass back, which allows people to [observe nesting without disturbing the birds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-nature-observatory). The Picto Birdhouse is also very easy to clean. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Modern Avian Abodes:** There is a trend of updating traditional birdhouses with modern designs, such as the Picto Birdhouse, creating disruptive innovation opportunities in the birdhouse industry. - **Cartoonish Birdhouse Designs:** Cartoonish and playful birdhouse designs like the Picto Birdhouse are gaining popularity, presenting opportunities for innovative and creative birdhouse makers. - **Functional Observation Features:** Birdhouses with observation features, like the glass back in the Picto Birdhouse, are becoming a trend, offering opportunities for birdwatching and research. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can tap into the trend of modern avian abodes by creating stylish and contemporary birdhouses for people who want both functional and visually appealing home accessories. - **Pet Supplies:** The pet supplies industry can explore the trend of cartoonish birdhouse designs, catering to bird owners who want to provide their feathered friends with fun and unique living spaces. - **Outdoor Recreation:** The outdoor recreation industry can leverage the trend of birdhouses with observation features, developing birdwatching products and accessories to enhance the birdwatching experience for enthusiasts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Home Exterior Nesting Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/numbird.md) - [Modernism Birdhouse Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dwellings-project.md) - [Educational Linoleum Birdhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elvi-birdhouse.md) - [Birdhouse-Integrated Address Signs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/our-common-house.md) - [Dual-Camera Birdhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdfy-nest.md) - [Birdcage-Inspired Smart Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bird-intelligent-sound-box.md) - [Birdhouse-Resembling Narrow Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-birdhouse.md) - [Sustainable Bird House Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-bird.md) - [Wooden Minimal Nesting Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nesting-boxes.md)
