The process is pretty simple. You connect a water-filled [mini-keg](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kombi-cool-tap) to the contraption, and watch as it circulates the water until it reaches the ideal temperature and runs it over grain to extract the sugars. To do this, you use a PicoPak, a professionally created pack -- of which there are over 100 -- that allows you to create a particular kind of beer. You can even create and submit your own beer recipes for approval by [Beer Judge Certification Program](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-hazy-pineapple) judges. If approved, you can sell them alongside professionally created PicoPaks. Ultimately, the PicoBrew makes it possible for you to enjoy a delicious home-crafted beer with minimal effort. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Drinking](https://www.trendhunter.com/drinking) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Home Brewing Automation:** The PicoBrew machine simplifies the process of brewing beer at home, making home brewing more accessible to a wider audience. - **Customized Brewing Experience:** The PicoPak system allows users to create their own beer recipes and sell them, offering a new level of customization in the brewing industry. - **Collaboration with Certification Programs:** The PicoBrew's partnership with the Beer Judge Certification Program opens up opportunities for homebrewers to gain recognition and sell their beer alongside professionally created brews. ### Where This Applies - **Home Brewing:** The PicoBrew machine disrupts the home brewing industry by automating the brewing process and making it more accessible to consumers. - **Craft Beer:** The PicoPak system allows for customized beer recipes, providing unique offerings in the craft beer industry and appealing to beer enthusiasts. - **Certification Programs:** The collaboration between the PicoBrew machine and the Beer Judge Certification Program disrupts the certification industry by recognizing and promoting homebrewers' beer creations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smart Beer Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-beer-maker.md) - [At-Home Beer Keg Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/athome-beer-keg-machine.md) - [Molecular Beer Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/molecular-beer-printer.md) - [At-Home Kombucha Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kombu.md) - [Fermentation Brewing Home Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kombu-fermenstation.md) - [Beer Brew-Accelerating Bots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miniature-robots.md) - [At-Home Bartending Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-and-decker-bev.md) - [Automated Kombucha Brewing Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kombucha-brewer.md) - [DIY Hard Cider Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hard-cider-brewing-kit.md)
