# Rock-Embedded Reflectors The Pi Mirrors Playfully Merge Marble with Round Looking Glasses By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-02-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pi-mirrors References: [kailinke](http://kailinke.com/web/English/Pi_Mirrors/) Looking glasses can be great decorative elements within a space, leading designer Kai Linke to explore a more [sculptural medium](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zigzag-collection) with the production of these Pi Mirrors. This pair takes on a marvellously purist style with the fusion of perfect circles and rectangular prisms that construct lovely propped-up reflectors. Beautiful blocks of white marble with subtle gray veins were cut into cubes and tall and slender bricks with slits sawn into their tops. It's in these slots that the [round reflective glass pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-collection) are inserted, seemingly arbitrarily to take unbalanced arrangements. The weight of the elegant stone gives the Pi Mirrors stability so that symmetry is not necessary. The outcome is a set of minimalist items with an obvious whimsical character. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Marble Mirror Fusion:** Exploring the fusion of marble and mirrors creates unique decorative elements with a hint of whimsy. - **Unbalanced Arrangements:** Creating mirror arrangements with seemingly arbitrary placements adds a playful and unconventional touch to interior design. - **Minimalist Whimsy:** Designing minimalist mirror pieces with a whimsical character allows for stylish and lighthearted decor options. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The fusion of marble and mirrors presents new opportunities for designers to create innovative and visually striking interior setups. - **Home Decor:** Unconventional mirror arrangements can enhance home decor with unique and eye-catching focal points. - **Furniture Design:** Designing minimalist mirror pieces with a whimsical character opens up possibilities for creating stylish and functional furniture pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sophisticated Copper Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manu-ba.md) - [Optical Illusion Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical.md) - [Colorful Retro Pixel Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-mirror.md) - [Wavy Dual-Action Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archvyli.md) - [One-of-a-Kind Ceramic Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-mirror.md) - [Geometrical Golden Ratio Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ascension-wall-mirror.md) - [Artful Hanging Contemporary Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ready-to-hang.md) - [Curvaceous Shelf-Paired Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wave-mirror.md) - [Reflective Water-Themed Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lakes-collection.md)
