# Ice-Encased Flower Photography An Artist Puts a Twist on Photos of Flowers That Has Not Been Done By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-08-23 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photos-of-flowers References: [booooooom](http://www.booooooom.com/2016/08/18/gorgeous-series-of-flowers-encased-in-ice/) While most photos of flowers are nothing out of the ordinary, artist Bruce Boyd creates very unique photography with the same main subject. The photographer made the series 'Zerodegrees' along with his artist girlfriend Tharien Smith. The two first create [floral arrangements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-crystal-floral-kits) using a variety of different positions and types of flowers and then [freeze them in blocks of ice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocktail-ice-sets). The resulting artwork is textured, colorful and makes for beautifully serene photos. The photos of flowers are certainly a significant diversion from the up-close field photography that most artists take. By creating different shapes and arrangements with something as simple as flowers, the artists have brought together a creative project that involves both physical and digital aspects. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Ice-encased Floral Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways to freeze and capture natural subjects to create unique and textured photographs. - **Creative Floral Arrangements:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine different types of flowers and experiment with their positioning to create visually striking displays. - **Physical-digital Art Integration:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the fusion of physical and digital mediums to create immersive and interactive artistic experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new techniques and approaches to capture subjects in unconventional ways, pushing the boundaries of traditional photography. - **Floral Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate unconventional materials, like ice, into floral arrangements to create unique and stunning displays that delight customers. - **Art Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine physical and digital art forms to create immersive experiences that blur the lines between reality and imagination. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Conceptual Fresh Flower Refrigerators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flora.md) - [Stone Floral Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lithic-bloom.md) - [Artist-Inspired Flower Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belgiandesigner.md) - [Unusual Limited-Edition Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bloom-candle.md) - [Stunning Dried Flower Arrangements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/east-olivia.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Floral-Inspired Sculptural Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-power.md) - [Petal-Inspired Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-wall-light.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md)
