Such an invention is sure to put those [citronella candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nitecore-nwl30) out of business, because it does more than [deterring mosquitoes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/isca) away from you, it kills them! Aside from executing those bothersome mosquitoes, the Photonic Fence is smart enough to only target that species of insect and only the female—as the female mosquitoes are the blood drinkers. I just want to see this invention in action. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Laser Insect Control:** The Photonic Fence is disrupting the insect control market with its innovative use of lasers to specifically target and eliminate certain species of insects. - **Smart Pest Control:** The ability of the Photonic Fence to intelligently target only specific species of insects presents opportunities for further developments in precision pest control solutions. - **Tech-based Pest Prevention:** The Photonic Fence is a prime example of leveraging technology for pest prevention, which can lead to greater advancements in the field of pest management and reduction in the use of harmful chemicals. ### Where This Applies - **Pest Control:** The use of the Photonic Fence in pest control could revolutionize the industry with its safe and effective approach. - **Agriculture:** The Photonic Fence could potentially be used in agriculture to protect crops from targeted insect species, making it a game-changing innovation for the industry. - **Public Health:** The effective use of technology to control mosquito populations with the Photonic Fence has significant potential for improving public health in areas impacted by vector-borne diseases like malaria, dengue, and Zika virus. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Style-Conscious Anti-Insect Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosqo-bug-zapper.md) - [Solar-Powered Pest Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-zapper-lantern.md) - [Electric Fly Swatters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fly-insect-trap.md) - [Electronic Mosquito Repellents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electronic-mosquito-repellent.md) - [Rechargeable Bug-Repelling Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosquito-repellent-device.md) - [AI-Powered Mosquito Protectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bzigo-iris.md) - [Chemical-Free Mosquito Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosqitter-mini.md) - [Mosquito-Repelling Outdoor String Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-string-lights.md) - [Anti-Mosquito Camping Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermacell-el55.md)
