'[Anycubic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photon-m3),' the 3D printing brand based in Shenzhen, China, has unveiled the '[Photon Nex](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luma-ai-photon)' futuristic 3D printer. This 3D printer has a geometric, minimalist outer shell that opens to reveal the full printer when a button is pressed. The marketing shots for this printer place it in outer space with suns and plants in the background to draw attention to its sci-fi inspiration. The design of the Photon Nex is inspired by the 'sleeper ships' from 'Star Trek.'

The Photon Nex is equipped with Anycubic's '[Auto Resin Filler](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anycubic-photon-p1),' which allows the device to automatically recycle up to 95% of wasted resin into future projects. The most notable feature of the Photon Nex, though, is its printing speed. The printer boasts a printing rate of 1,600mm/h, meaning it is nearly 15 times faster than its competitors.
