The design was put together by student Nathalie Teugels and makes use of the stationary activity by turning it into a dual function. Teugels creatively brings more functionality to sitting by integrating a chore many consumers do into the usage of the minimalist and geometric chair. The MOOV seat is a rocking chair that makes use of fidgeting by allowing sitters to rock calmly while simultaneously charging their device. The smartphone connects to the single arm of the [modular chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair) in a concealed USB port. This allows sitters to continue using their devices while they charge and rock calmly in the modern chair. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Modular Furniture:** The integration of charging ports in the MOOV chair demonstrates the trend of modular furniture with multifunctional features. - **Smart Home:** The MOOV chair aligns with the trend of smart home technology by offering a charging solution for smartphones integrated into furniture. - **Sustainable Design:** The minimalist and geometric design of the MOOV chair highlights the trend of sustainable furniture design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** The MOOV chair presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the furniture industry through the integration of charging ports and modular design. - **Technology:** The integration of charging ports and smart functionality in the MOOV chair opens up disruptive innovation opportunities in the technology industry. - **Interior Design:** The MOOV chair offers a unique solution for incorporating technology into interior design, creating disruptive innovation opportunities in the industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Battery Icon-Inspired Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/low-battery-chair.md) - [Power-Providing Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solove-power-bank.md) - [Garden-Inspired Smartphone Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-moonlit-desk-garden.md) - [Modular Mood Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-chair.md) - [Opulent Robotic Gamer Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moiin-robodesk-gaming-chair.md) - [Sit-Stand Office Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/movably-pro.md) - [Furniture-Embedded Discreet Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/discreet-charging-station.md) - [Functional Device-Charging Computer Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/molo-computer-stand.md) - [Intentional Disconnection Device Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/share-power.md)
