Of course, that's not surprising since it's still just a concept conceived for the city of Philadelphia. Designed by Justin Johnsen, the Philly Fountain features a [solar-powered](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perovia) touchscreen that encourages social interaction. Basically, you can draw on it then passersby can elaborate on your artwork. The Philly Fountain also glows to indicate its presence at night. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Interactive Drinking Fountains:** Designing drinking fountains with interactive touchscreens creates opportunities for social interaction and community engagement. - **Solar-powered Urban Installations:** Incorporating solar-powered designs into urban installations creates sustainable and cost-effective opportunities for public utilities. - **Smart City Public Art:** Integrating technology into public art installations fosters creativity and engagement within a city while providing opportunities for innovation in IoT design. ### Where This Applies - **Urban Planning and Design:** Urban planners and designers can use these new ideas for urban infrastructure to improve public spaces and encourage more engagement and participation from the community. - **Public Utilities:** Public utility companies can explore incorporating solar technology in public infrastructure to create more efficient and environmentally friendly service delivery models. - **Technology and Iot:** The use of technology and IoT can transform public art installations like the Philly Fountain to create innovative and interactive experiences that foster community and creativity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Civic-Inspired Fountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-fountain.md) - [Vibrant Public London Fountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neon-1.md) - [Mesmerizing Fluid Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-fountain.md) - [Stone-Stacked Dynamic Fountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vondel-fountain.md) - [Oat Milk Fountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designed-for-humans.md) - [Urban Pet Hydration Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jalashay.md) - [Eco-Friendly Cat Water Fountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qinliy-cat-water-fountain.md) - [Sleek Water Dispenser Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metapure-desktop-water-dispenser.md) - [Smart Pet Water Fountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-water-fountain.md)
