This sci-fi wall decor may just represent the future of wallpaper. An ever-changing glowing presence, the Philips Luminous Wallpaper was developed in collaboration with Kvadrat Soft Cells. This [luminous textile](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immersive-surfaces) is essentially embedded with mini, adjustable LED lights in an acoustic panel that is then hung on a wall almost like a piece of artwork. Considering its beauty, I would consider the Philips Luminous Wallpaper a work of art. Aside from bathing rooms in [mood-based ambient lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philips-hue-spatialaware), the Philips Luminous Wallpaper also dampens sounds and softens echoes, not to mention that it will be able to respond visually to sounds such as music. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Luminous Textiles:** The development of luminous textiles provides opportunities to create high-tech wall decor and expand the market for ambient lighting. - **Acoustic Wall Panels:** Incorporating mini LED lights into acoustic wall panels creates opportunities for innovative sound-dampening solutions and artistic expressions. - **Interactive Wall Decor:** Visual responses to sound and music in wall decor create opportunities for customized, interactive home environments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** The integration of luminous textiles and acoustic wall panels into interior design provides disruptive innovation opportunities for enhancing modern living spaces. - **Hospitality:** The use of luminous textiles and interactive wall decor can provide new experiences for hotel and restaurant guests, enhancing the overall ambiance. - **Event Planning:** Interactive wall decor provides an opportunity for creating unique, interactive experiences for events, such as personalized visual responses to music. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ambient Illumination Smart Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philips-hue-play-wall-washer.md) - [Life-Like 3D Canvases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumino.md) - [Ambient Smart Lighting Technologies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ambient-smart-lighting.md) - [Colourful Ambient Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ambient-lamp-design.md) - [Smart Ambient Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-varmblixt-smart-lights.md) - [Timber-Like Smart Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanoleaf-elements-wood-look-hexagon-lights.md) - [AI-Powered Wall Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lepro-wl1.md) - [Wall-Mounted Ambient Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-varmblixt-collection.md) - [Plexiglass Vibrant Wall Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibeke-fonnesberg-schmidt.md)
