Careful examination of any image will astonish you as you discover random details you overlooked that suddenly morph into snail shells or even a [hidden snake](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog). The amount of detail Banken puts into his work is astronomical. Philipp Banken currently resides in Trier, Germany, where he works as an illustrator. Many of his creations have a bleak atmosphere and those with good eyes can usually spot a representation of death looming somewhere amidst his drawings. His preference for rendering on [brown backgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawing-series) gives his work an organic and archaic feel, though his technical ability obviously exceeds that of artists from centuries past. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Wildlife Illustrations:** The trend of intricately detailed wildlife illustrations featuring elements of nature and humanity can be disruptive in the art and design industry. - **Hidden Details in Art:** The trend of incorporating small and hidden details in artwork can be disruptive for interior design, advertising, and marketing industries. - **Bleak Atmosphere Art:** The trend of creating artwork with a bleak and somber atmosphere can be disruptive in the creative writing and storytelling industries. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Philipp Banken's illustrations can disrupt the traditional art and design industry through his unique style and use of hidden details. - **Interior Design:** The intricate details in Philipp Banken's illustrations can be disruptive in the interior design industry by offering unique pieces for decoration. - **Advertising and Marketing:** The trend of hidden details in artwork can be disruptive in advertising and marketing industries since it can be used to create engaging and interactive content. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Dynamic Mathematically Shaped Surfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mathematically-shaped.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Biology-Inspired Porcelain Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiyuan-xu.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Intricate Site-Specific Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-time.md)
