His [surreal artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salvador-dal-collection) is stunning. He focuses on solitudinous moments that would appear only in dreams, not in real life. Although his [digital artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-digital-artwork) centers around themes of loneliness and tension, Philip McKay has a way of showing that there is more to life beyond the confines of the human mind. Comfort and companionship can be found through different means. The mind is far from being an empty and desolate space, even though Philip McKay’s renderings may make it seem as though it were. Philip McKay was born in Liverpool, United Kingdom. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Surreal Artwork:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways of storytelling and expression through surreal digital art. - **Themes of Loneliness:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop technologies or solutions that address social isolation and promote connectedness. - **Exploring the Human Mind:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Use digital art to explore the depths of the human psyche and create impactful psychological experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Digital Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Apply virtual reality or augmented reality technologies to enhance the immersive experience of digital artwork. - **Mental Health:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine art therapy with digital platforms to provide accessible mental health support and self-expression. - **Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate surreal digital art into immersive entertainment experiences such as virtual reality games or interactive installations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Abstract Geometric Solo Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impermanent-state-of-being.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Interactive Colorful Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-hockney-bigger-closer.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [UK-Based Modern Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/relics-in-the-landscape.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md)
