# Curious Trinket Clusters Philip Luschen Combines Curious Objects as Waiting Room Art By Jaime Neely | Published 2011-05-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philip-luschen References: [trendland.net](http://trendland.net/2011/04/10/distractors-by-philip-luschen/) & [flickr](http://www.flickr.com/photos/26198248@N02/) Philip Luschen, a conceptual art student at the [Design Academy Eindhoven](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galerie-philia), recently completed his fourth year project entitled 'Distractors.' Without any clear method, system, or organization, Luschen’s 'Distractors' includes different collections of some very random and hard-to identify objects. Using a very neutral palette of colours including black, red, white, grey, beige and peach and various pieces of metal, Philip Luschen created 'Distractors' as a way to liven up dauntingly boring waiting rooms or bare hallways. He hopes that his [conceptual art project](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afterglow-1) will provide onlookers with a spark of inspiration and imagination, or an escape from the dull environments that offices or waiting areas often create. These forward-thinking and truly original clusters can be mounted to a wall, hung from a ceiling or set on a table. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Conceptual Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways to incorporate unexpected objects and colors into art installations and exhibits. - **Environmental Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative and visually captivating designs for waiting rooms and hallways that spark inspiration and imagination. - **Interactive Installations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create interactive art installations that provide a sensory escape from mundane office or waiting room environments. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionize the traditional art and design industry by incorporating unconventional materials and concepts into artwork and installations. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Rethink the design of office waiting rooms and hallways to create visually stimulating and engaging environments. - **Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate interactive art installations into architectural designs to enhance the overall experience and atmosphere of buildings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Junkyard-Inspired Art Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junkyard-diving.md) - [Kid-Designed Sculptural Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galerie-philia.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Brain-Like Labyrinths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brash-collective.md) - [Intricate Lighting Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-of-common-interest1.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Sculptural Experimental Artforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ladder-series.md) - [Object Design-Explorative Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartamento-secreto.md)
