# Life-Narrating Collages The Petra Peterffy Visual Self-Portrait Series Tells the Artist's Story By Gil Cohen | Published 2012-11-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petra-peterffy-visual-selfportrait References: [ignant.de](http://www.ignant.de/2012/11/28/visual-self-portrait) & [cargocollective](http://cargocollective.com/peterffy) Infused with expression and identity, the five images of the Petra Peterffy Visual Self-Portrait series were created as responses to five personal questions posed to the artist. Petra Peterffy's work is a collage-style compilation of images and shapes that work together to tell a story. The first question asks about her mood as she wakes up in the morning, which is responded to by a face still half-immersed in a blur of color. Another question asks her what home means to her and the corresponding image shows a gleefully smiling child's face surrounded by floating bubbles and marbles. Each piece in the Petra Peterffy Visual Self-Portrait series tells a narrative of the artist's life. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Collage Art:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the field of creating visual narratives through collage-style artwork. - **Self-expression:** Opportunity to disrupt the way individuals express their personal stories and emotions through visual art forms. - **Visual Storytelling:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the realm of conveying narratives and personal experiences through visual mediums. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the art and design industry by exploring new ways to create and present visual narratives. - **Creative Therapy:** Opportunity to disrupt the field of creative therapy by incorporating collage-style visual storytelling as a therapeutic tool. - **Social Media and Content Creation:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the realm of social media and content creation, as individuals seek unique and expressive ways to share their personal stories. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Museum Solo Debuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fangirl.md) - [Reimagined Puzzled Artful Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-of-a-woman-in-a-hat.md) - [Artful Custom Mirror Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portraits-collection.md) - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Custom Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-mom.md) - [Identity-Exploring Artful Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragments.md) - [Intersecting Dimensional Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diorama.md)
