PetMio, a startup currently funding on Kickstarter, is looking to help pet owners keep their cats and dogs in tiptop shape using the same technology that's gained popularity in the world of people. The company offers a smart collar that serves as a fitness tracker for pets and a smart food bowl that monitors intake, as well as a line of healthy pet food to round everything out.

Taking dogs out for walks is part and parcel of caring for the animals, but cat owners don't have that luxury. Indoor cats are especially susceptible to health problems stemming from inactivity, so the PetMio collar is a good way for owners to gauge how much activity their cat's getting when they aren't at home to see it for themselves.
